Week in Paris

Posted by James R. Tinsley on 04/04/2005

I just spent Spring Break/ Easter in Paris and must say that this was an excellent experience. I have been to France many times but Passports got everything in order so that I left Charles de Gaulle by train 25 Euros round trip and arrived in 22 minutes at Gare du Nord. From there I walked the 8 blocks to the hotel. This was certainly less expensive than a cab and the walking and pushing my suitcase did me good after the flight from Houston to Paris I found two restaurants that were quite good with a fixed menu of about 12 eros-- Les Argonautes at 12, rue de la Huchette-75005 . This is near Metro stop St. Michael and not far from Notre Dame Cathedral. They have excellent Mediterranean food and if you do not speak French, the staff speaks excellent English. The other restaurant was Chez Papa t 26,rue Lafayette in the Xth. It speciaslizes in French food and has magniificent salads and desserts. The restaurant also has a fixed menu of 12 Euros and lunch specials that are even less expensive.
