WHERE TO STAY IN VENICE

I think you now need to get yourself a good guide book! But my advice to you is to stay in "VENICE PROPER" (the floating city) so that you can get places easily. The alternatives would be to stay on the "VENICE LIDO" (one of the islands and requiring water transfers) or on the "MESTRE" (the mainland, also requiring water transfers and not-so-pretty, being semi-industrial). Hope you are now confident in knowing where to stay.
