Walking with Passports

Posted by Carole on 09/23/2009

We stayed at the end of the Academia Bridge in Venice. We walked numerous times to San Marco Piazza. It wasn't bad only about 15 minutes each way.

The walking in Florence was well-paced and fairly easy once you got into the city from the hotel. Again, it wss an easy 15 minute walk from our hotel. Rome was another story. We spent one FULL day in Rome. Most of that was due to our scheduling, but it was a lot of walking. I think it was about 10 miles. We were exhausted after the day, but it was really the only way we could get everything in. We were very glad that the coach picked us up after dinner! You can always take things out of an itinerary, but somehow that seems like short-changing your travelers when the experience may be the only one they have in a city. The couriers with whom I have traveled all have a sense of crowd tolerance and will build in nice rest times if they see everyone fading.
